Linger Longer in God’s Word for 2019

Many of you have been wondering about my Bible reading plan for 2019. I’ve read through the Bible with many of you over the past 3 years. It’s been a privilege and encouragement to me in so many ways.
But this year, I want to slow down a little—in fact, a lot. So, I’ve developed a plan…with a boxes to check! Yes, that’s the kind of person I am—I love the boxes checked, but more importantly I love having a consistent plan.

My goal is to read through the New Testament at least twice and read a Psalm a day, reflectively, in order to pray through that Psalm. I’ll be using The Gospel Transformation Bible (ESV) and study notes and I have personalized the ESV 6-month plan for my use. I also plan to mark up and highlight my bible, as I’ve done in the past in an ESV wide margin journaling Bible—which is another Bible I recommend using for this purpose.

So—anyone want to join me? Let me know! Similar to the past few years, my commitment is to pray for you through out the year, by name, and send out regular encouragement. Just let me know by sending me an email and I’ll put you on the private Let’s Linger Longer in God’s Word for 2019 emailing group.

Tim Challies says in his book Knowing Your Purpose, “God created you so he could receive glory from you and receive glory through you.”  We do that by being in His Word—let’s do it together!

I’ve also recognized by joking with a friend recently, that I’m a little bit a ‘blog failure,’ in that, I haven’t kept up with blogging much this year. But I have been staying busy elsewhere. I’m currently certifying as a Biblical Counsellor, through ACBC, and have been working hard on that, as well as remaining actively involved in church ministry and speaking/teaching opportunities.

Your best place to catch my ‘work’ is under Resources here at Ministry to Women. I’ll be updating that space on my website regularly and may even blog a few of them out to you!

Be encouraged,
and Happy New Year!
